Basic Purpose:
• The Industrial Relations Manager leads and manages labor and employee relations functions, provides solutions and recommendations to management regarding collective bargaining negotiations. The manager will mainly facilitate alignment of the Bank, people and culture to its strategic business plan through the provision of Human Resource services in industrial relations, corrective behavior, wlefare and medical care.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• manages the review, design and implementation of the HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the business plans and objectives of the Bank;
• Handle all staff complaints, settles disputes, resolves grievances and conflicts in a timely, proper manner and cost effective way;
• Propose recommendations in respect of the labor legislation and case law in order to ensure good employee and labor relations;
• Attend all disciplinary meetings and ensures that disciplinary policies and procedures are followed;
• Provide advice and counsel to managers and supervisors regarding personnel practices, policy and employment laws;
• Manages relocation, immigration and other responsibilities related to staffing administration;
• Facilitates conflict resolution between employees and supervisors to promote a positive, safe, and compliant work environment;
• Acts as a liaison between HR, Heads of Departments and union representatives, and provides advice and counsel to managers and supervisors regarding personnel practices, policy and employment laws;
• Administer unemployment insurance processes and act as the employer representative for same, reviews related reports, respond to related information requests, and monitor program costs;
• Represent the Bank at Labor/Employment-related hearings and investigations;
• Contribute to the Bank’s HR management team to ensure the targets set in respect of employee productivity, safe working environment; cost management; corporate governance are achieved and the values demonstrated;
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Knowledge Skills and Experience:
Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills
• 1st degree in Human Resources/Law/Public Administration/Social Sciences/Business or Economics
• A professional qualification/certification in HR is desirable
• Relevant Experience (Type of experience and minimum number of years)
• 3-5 years of solid HR experience on employee relations;
