On behalf of one of our Tanzania based client, we are looking for a competent and experienced General Manager in poultry farming.
JOB SUMMARY
• We are looking for a General Manager to oversee all staff, budgets & operations, strategic management to ensure company growth.
• General Manager Responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, supervising implementation of strategic decisions, managing people and resources at the Poultry farm to achieve set targets.
• Responsible to strategically organizing and mobilizing the resources to meet the targets, and ensure all resources are fully utilized
• To ensure company growth through retaining of existing market and penetrating in the new markets to get new clients
• To ensure Compliance with all relevant requirements for company operations.
• Responsible for overseeing the entire poultry operations
• Direct the planning and managing of farm operations and handle farm business administration and marketing.
• Plan, develop, and implements policies, procedures, and practices for the operation of the Poultry farm to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Directs and coordinates, farm activities, for example feeding and production of chicks and eggs and growth of broiler
• Plan, coordinate, and direct various activities within production to achieve the set targets.
• Manage farm financing, including negotiating loans, and establishing relationships with purchasers.
• Purchase needed farm equipment and supplies and consumables
• Maintaining and monitoring daily and weekly production records and presenting monthly performance reports to executive management.
• Oversee routine production planning and execution of periodical, preventive and breakdown maintenance of machinery such as Boilers, Pellet Press, etc
• Ensuring Process Controls as per required specification and overseeing all process Quality.
• Submit innovative ideas to the top management for the continuous growth of the organization
• Plan and manage safety and hygiene on factory premises
• Ensure all organic Poultry sanitation procedures are followed, including the use of good quality chick and broiler chicken.
• sterilizing and maintaining facilities and equipment and ensuring disease prevention for good bird health,
• Ensure standard ventilation guidelines for environmental closed houses in extreme weather conditions
• Management of subordinates, ensuring a healthy and safe working environment,
• Maintain high-quality healthy Poultry herds. Identify and respond to health, environmental and nutritional requirements of the poultry Industry
• Handled routine Breeder, Broiler, Layer flock health maintenance program & established guidelines for. Good Health Management, encompassing vaccination, medication, Disinfection & Bio-security program.
• Ensure that birds are growing regularly using consistent techniques.
• Supervising and following up on different types of vaccines methods like vaccinating with spraying, drinking water, subcutaneous & intramuscular injection & laboratory tests
• Maintained a high standard of poultry husbandries like Chick/Egg management, Growth Management, Ventilation, pre-processing management, and nutrition.
• Ensuring company guidelines & production standards pertaining to, Sanitation & disinfection of hatchery, broiler houses, layer & breeding farm.
Key Competences:
• Knowledge of different breeds of chicken and fowl
• Skilled in maintaining the health and hygiene of the birds
• Knowledge of optimum bird and fowl nutrition
• Efficient in maintaining safety standards and cleanliness at the farm
• Knowledge of pest and disease control
• Knowledge of the latest technological advancements in poultry management
• Proficient in basic arithmetic
Qualifications:
• 5 – 10 years’ experience in Poultry Farming focusing on layers
• Having a basic understanding of Accounting, budgeting, business financing and marketing
• Having a degree in Agribusiness or any related field
• Effective people management skills
• Knowledge of different breeds of chicken and layers
• Skilled in maintaining the health and hygiene of the birds
• Knowledge of optimum bird and layers nutrition
• Efficient in maintaining safety standards and cleanliness at the farm
• Knowledge of pest and disease control
• Knowledge of the latest technological advancements in poultry management
• People Management skill
• Result-oriented
• Self-motivated
• Leadership qualities
• Good communication skills
